Royal Cosun is an international group which develops, produces and sells natural foodstuffs and ingredients. Cosun carries a broad selection of products. It varies from sugar, fructose & inulin, alcohol and potato specialties to a wide range of compound ingredients for use in snacks, bakery products, dairy products, soft drinks and the food service sector.
In all these markets, the Cosun businesses Suiker Unie, Sensus, Nedalco, Aviko, SVZ, and Unifine Food & Bake Ingredients work closely together with customers and suppliers.
Royal Cosun was established more than one hundred years ago when Dutch arable farmers set up their own cooperative which nowadays amounts to 13,000 member shareholders. Today, Cosun has grown into an international group with operations in Europe and North America, which develop, produce and sell natural food and ingredients all over the world. With a workforce of about 4,500, Cosun realises an annual turnover of approximately € 1.7 billion.
The Cosun group has a joint research facility: CFTC (Cosun Food Technology Centre) that is located in Roosendaal, close to the head office of SVZ in the Netherlands. This research centre supports the individual R&D departments of the business units in for example more fundamental research,
sensory research, and has a pilot plant for test runs.
