Growing demand, that’s what we see in the ready meal industry. Assembling all kinds of high quality ingredients to produce a meal that can compete with home cooking is the goal of ready meal producers and SVZ has a small but fully developed range of IQF beans that finds it way into winter dishes, chilies, salads and jambalaya’s or soups. Ever tried a pizza with some beans on it? Another trend is the use of coarsely sieved vegetable purees as ingredients to soups and sauces.

Beans are imported from all over the world to the SVZ plant in Poland, where we soak, cook, freeze and pack the beans. The cooking of the beans is a crucial step in this processing as we choose between blanching and real pressure cooking:

Blanching gives a blanched quality which still needs heat treatment at our clients’ production
Real pressure cooking provides the so called ready meal quality which can be eaten straight away. It no longer contains lectines as it is heated for more than 10 minutes at more than 100 degrees Celsius.

Dark red kidney, white Great Northern, white navy, Pinto, Adzuki beans, all have their own characteristics and are chosen for their colour, bite, taste or overall appearance and are all in our current product list. The picture illustrates the more exotic bean types.

Coarsely sieved vegetable purees

Red pepper and sweet corn puree are used as basis or ingredient for soups and ready sauces, like barbecue sauce, or as a component to sauces in ready meals (e.g. coarse red pepper puree in chili con carne or risotto’s). The coarseness will give a homemade appearance to the sauce.
