Today packaging is almost as important as the product itself and SVZ is constantly on the look out for new forms of packaging, which brings both price and environmental benefits. Whilst packaging in one format may give us production efficiencies, it rarely meets all of your handling requirements. To meet these, we can offer you the following packaging options:
Cartons
Our IQF products and Frozen Puree Cubes are in 20 kg cartons. The product is packed in blue plastic bags and the cartons are sealed with blue tape ensuring that should plastic end up in the product it is visible. The exception to the 20kg cartons is IQF Raspberry whose delicate nature requires only 10 kg to be put into a carton and this is further broken down into 4 x 2.5 kg.
Bag-in-box / bag-in-drum
Aseptic purees are packed in 20 liter bag-in-box or 200 liter bag-in-drum. Fruit and vegetable juice concentrates can be packed in 200 liter bag-in-drum.
Jerry can
Fruit and vegetable juice concentrates can also be packed in smaller sizes: a jerry can of 12 liter or 22.5 liter.
Plastic conical drums
An environmental friendly alternative to the steel drum is the 210 liter plastic conical drum. The advantages of this packaging type are:
- Environmentally friendly (re-usable and later recyclable)
- Lower packaging cost, with high turnaround frequency
- Less storage requirements for empty drums
- External party will arrange collection
- No packaging tax
Arca-container
If you are using large quantities of aseptic puree or compound in one go, the 1000 liter Arca container could be the best option for you. The collapsible plastic container has a number of advantages similar to the plastic conical containers.
Stainless steel container
This 1000 liter container is filled aseptically under positive pressure, the de-canting being achieved by pipe connection to the lower outlet valve. This form of returnable packaging is increasing in importance to SVZ and when used regularly they can be a cost effective alternative for you.
Tanker
The full tanker quantities accommodate our customers who are able to offload up to 25t into storage tanks or direct into line. The tankers can be chilled, aseptically filled or ambient and can carry both puree and concentrate. Any puree delivered should be used within a short time span whilst concentrate can be stored for longer periods.
