| Aseptic expansion of SVZ gains traction in North America |
| |
SVZ-USA’s new aseptic line installation is completed. Production of a variety of fruits from the 2011 harvest season is already underway. SVZ will work with FDA over the summer on low acid filing and certification of the new line, after which vegetable processing will begin. Once FDA certified, SVZ will begin servicing the market with aseptic vegetable ingredients, September through January. All contracted vegetable crops are planted in Washington State, in close proximity to the factory.
SVZ has been making substantial progress in the marketplace, which has responded positively to SVZ’s entry into the aseptic vegetable arena. Key highlights:
• Bakery industry penetration for pie applications using aseptic pumpkin puree
• Soup applications using butternut squash and carrot purees
• Pasta applications using butternut squash, zucchini, and carrot purees
• Baby food applications using sweet potato, broccoli, and pumpkin purees
SVZ’s 2011 product mix will also include a large component of organic production with a focus on butternut squash, pumpkin, orange carrot, and sweet potato. Expansion into conventional and organic legumes is also on the horizon.
As we move into 2011, SVZ will keep the market updated on these developments. For more immediate information, please contact Mr. Campbell Cooper by email: campbell.cooper@svz-usa.com.
