SVZ sources its premium fruit and vegetables from major agricultural areas all over the world. We’d like to update you about growing conditions and expected yields to help you with your planning.

The 2016/17 season has been one of mixed fortunes. Our growers in some regions have enjoyed favourable conditions which mean they’re on track for harvests in line with expectations.

But last winter in eastern Europe was a harsh one, which has impacted our red fruit and vegetable growers. Because of frost and cold temperatures continuing into the spring, it looks likely yields will be lower than anticipated in crops like strawberries, blackcurrants and sour cherries.

It’s still too early to predict exactly what the impact of recent weather conditions will be, but our agronomy team is keeping an eye on the situation. We are aware of the impact crop shortages can have on your supply chain, so we’ll stay in touch with you to provide updates in the coming weeks.
