Sustainability Manager (40 hours)
Driving Sustainable Growth and Environmental Responsibility
As a Sustainability Manager, you have a strong background in the food and beverages industry, you can drive sustainability initiatives both internally and externally. The ideal candidate possesses solid project management skills, has experience in working with clients and suppliers, demonstrates expertise in sustainability calculations, assessments, and certification such as Ecovadis and SEDEX Smeta. Familiarity with evolving regulatory frameworks is essential, though deep expertise in them is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sustainability projects across the food and beverages industry, ensuring alignment with company goals and global sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with clients and suppliers on sustainability initiatives, driving effective partnerships and ensuring consistent progress on shared sustainability targets.
- Calculate and report on Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, working closely with internal teams to develop actionable insights and strategies for reduction.
- Assess the sustainability performance of factories and production sites.
- Stay up-to-date with rapidly changing sustainability regulations, including CSRD, CDDD, Green Claims Act, Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and OMNIBUS, ensuring compliance across all projects.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying emerging sustainability trends and potential regulatory impacts, supporting the business in navigating these changes.
- Drive a “go-getter” mentality across the organization, ensuring the successful implementation of sustainability initiatives with a focus on continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Masters’ Degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability or related areas.
- Proven experience as a Sustainability Manager or in a similar role within the food and beverages industry.
- Demonstrable project management experience, including leading sustainability projects in the field.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage stakeholders at all levels.
